Effectively a sequel to The Iliad, but by another author, the Aeneid recounts the tale of the journeys and adventures of Aeneas, a survivor of the battle of Troy.

After escaping the battle with a large group of survivors, make their way across Greece, Sicily and even to Carthage in north Africa.

Eventually settling in what is modern day Italy, it is believed that the descendants of this tribe are the founders of Rome.
